From July 29 to 31, 2009, The WIPO Asia-Pacific Regional Symposium on Copyright Related Aspects of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) will to be held in Hanoi, Vietnam.

This Symposium are being organized by WIPO in cooperation with the Government of Viet Nam (the Copyright Office of Viet Nam), and with the assistance of the Japan Copyright Office (JCO).
Participants will be invited to the Symposium, from the following countries: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Islamic Republic of Iran, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and from the host country Viet Nam.
The objectives of the Symposium are to share and exchange information and views on copyright-related aspects of ICT, including Internet intermediaries, and their role in effective use of ICT for economic and cultural development. There would be particular attention on assisting the participating countries to identify practical, copyright-related strategies to use ICT for developmental objectives.
